Geldryk
worked for Santa Claus for many, many years. Then,
one day,for no
reason anyone could figure, Geldryk
began to grow. Soon,
he couldn't fit into
the tiny
elf suits. The tiny elf chairs and beds were much
too small. When he
could no longer fit through the
doors into the toy factory, Santa had to let
Geldryk
go.
Geldryk
agreed that he was too big for his old job and so
he packed to leave.
He loved working for Santa Claus.
Santa was a great boss although that
"Ho, Ho,
Ho" WAS beginning to get on Geldryk's nerves.
Before
Geldryk left the North Pole, Santa dusted him with
a special magic
that helped him sing and play the
whistle and horn. The magic dust also
helped Geldryk
learn many jokes, songs and stories that children
like.
Santa
gave Geldryk permission to perform anywhere and at
any time of the
year. So, now Geldryk can go to birthdays,
parties, conventions and festivals.
Geldryk's
songs include kids' favorites like Teddy Bears'
Picnic, Baby
Bumble Bee, Sailor Cat, Five Hungry Mice,
and the Worm Song. Geldryk
likes action songs and
sing-alongs
For
the grownups, Geldryk can sing Irish favorites and
other songs that
come from the Celtic tradition. He
really likes ballads that tell stories or tunes
with
a special moral or uplifting message. He knows a lot
about Irish history
too and can tell these tales at
schools and libraries.
